Lewis University - Online Master of Science in Business Analytics

The College of Business at Lewis University offers a Master of Science in Business Analytics with three different concentrations that are available online: Marketing Analytics; Healthcare Analytics; and Operations Analytics. The program features an interdisciplinary curriculum rooted in data mining techniques, knowledge management systems, and the skills necessary to make data-driven decisions in marketing, healthcare, and business operations and management. Students must complete 36 credits of coursework, which can be done in 15 months by full-time students who take two courses per eight-week session. Part-time students may opt to take just one course per session while enrolled. The program is 100% online and does not require any campus visits.

The online programs at Lewis University’s College of Business utilize a learning management system (LMS) that supports both synchronous and asynchronous instruction. Many lectures and most course materials are available on-demand to students 24/7, as are the assets of Lewis’ Cloudlab, which allows students access to analytics programming tools and applications. Some courses also include live lectures and discussion sessions that require students to be logged onto the LMS at set times.

The Master’s in Business Analytics requires one foundational course in the Fundamentals of the Business Enterprise for students who have not already completed similar coursework as part of an undergraduate degree in business. There are then seven core course requirements, including: Quantitative Methods of Business; Business Intelligence & Data Analysis; Database Management; Business Data Warehousing; Legal & Ethical Issues in Information Security; Visualizing Information; and Data Mining for Business Decisions. Each concentration has three additional course requirements. Students who choose Marketing Analytics take classes in the following: Marketing Management; Social Media Analytics; and Marketing Research. Healthcare Analytics students take Introduction to Healthcare Informatics, as well as courses in Healthcare Data Security, Privacy and Confidentiality; and Healthcare Data Analysis and Design. The Operations Analytics concentration includes an Operations Management course, and classes in Coordinating and Managing Supply Chains, and Supply Chain Management Analytics. Every student must then complete a Business Analytics Capstone course in which they apply analytics methods to an approved project.

Lewis University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The College of Business is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP International).
