Thomas University

Thomas University has a long and distinguished history of providing quality education. In 1950 the Birdwood Junior College was chartered, and classes began in 1954. In 1976, the name was changed to Thomas County Community College. The College became non-sectarian, private and independent in 1979. The name was changed to Thomas College in 1986, and in 1988 the first 4-year degree was offered. In 1988, Thomas College began offering graduate degrees. And, finally, in 2000, the name was changed to Thomas University.

The main campus building and surrounding grounds were originally part of the Birdwood Plantation. This was the winter home of W. Cameron Forbes, who served as U.S. Ambassador to Japan and Governor General of the Philppines. The charm of the Old South is preserved on the campus today, which is a trademark of the surrounding area.

Today Thomas University has a wide range of courses and degree programs to choose from. The online courses offer the same high-quality education as the on-campus classes. All of the professors have solid academic backgrounds, as well as real-life experience. This allows the students to have the knowledge they need to advance in today's competitive business world.
