Campus-Based And Online Colleges Offer Scholarships To Technology Students

As the recession begins to subside, many industries are beginning to revamp their recruitment efforts. Although a college degree is a pivotal qualification among most employers, in some fields – such as information technology – they are virtually mandatory.

Fortunately, a great deal of campus-based and online schools are making this certification more accessible to recent high school graduates and nontraditional students who are looking to enter lucrative sectors. In fact, many companies are working with these institutions to ensure that talented degree seekers gain the skills they will need to succeed. For instance, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) recently partnered with a New York-based school to offer a $10,000 scholarship to students who are pursuing higher education in information studies.

Applicants are required to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be able to prove their need for financial assistance. Recipients of these funds will also have the opportunity to complete an internship with CSC, which could introduce them to the real-world elements of their prospective career paths.
